Investigative Work

Workplace Investigations are undertaken on behalf of public bodies, private companies or voluntary sector organisations. We investigate allegations of bullying, harassment or discrimination in the workplace by acting as an independent, external adjudicator.

Allegations of discrimination frequently link to issues around sexuality, race, gender, disability, age, religion or belief. Investigators are particularly skilled and knowledgeable on diversity issues.

Why use us?

Allegations of bullying, harassment or breaches of one or more person‘s dignity in the workplace can contribute to a discontented workforce. All take a toll on the image and performance of an organisation. High sickness absence statistics, fast turnover of employees and unhappy staff inevitably have a root cause that costs an organisation money and reputation. Internal investigations can take months, sometimes years to complete due to lack of staff resources. We assist you to address and solve a situation in a prompt and effective manner.

Using us considerably reduces the risk of litigation and associated, often unlimited settlement costs.

What happens?

Working to the Human Resource policies and procedures of the commissioning organisation, allegations are investigated through interviews (which become signed witness statements), background research and collation of any documentary evidence. A comprehensive report is compiled, covering all objective evidence with findings, conclusions and recommendations.

We also highlight legislative requirements or areas of training or development that may have contributed to the overall situation. The commissioning body is then in a position to decide on a way forward.
