What you can do.....

The LGBT Excellence Centre is in the process of setting up a library to encourage and facilitate the reading and research of LGBT literature. The library will be an important community resource and will eventually be open to the public as a reference, not a borrowing library.

The Excellence Centre will also host a Welsh LGBT archive to preserve our communities' heritage, making it accessible through regular exhibits, publications and other research activities. The collection will include badges, flags, papers, periodicals, correspondence, photographs, and other artefacts donated by the public.

By making its collections accessible by appointment, the LGBT Excellence Centre will provide current and future researchers the opportunity to piece together the actual and true history of our communities often glanced over by the mainstream media.

 DONATE DONATE DONATE.....

We would like to appeal to anyone who has any LGBT books or any Welsh LGBT items which they would be willing to donate. To contact our Heritage Team please click here.

CONSERVE YOUR OWN ARCHIVES

Many people have collections of photographs, documents, old programmes, magazines, newspaper archives, etc and if not treated with care they could suffer deterioration and information which could be valuable to future generations could be lost.

Glamorgan Archive have supplied some notes to help you look after your own archives:
