Given that the WHSSC condemned the few services that were in South Wales and is now referring everyone straight up to CX I doubt we will get a much needed clinic down here

doh, why doesnt anyone ever ask me about this.

Swansea NHS tried to set up their own GIC to which i was their guineapig.

Dr David Price (Endocrinologist in Morriston) prescribed me hormones mid 2009. I was his only TS patient. His boss (whos name eludes me) wanted a GIC in swansea to cover south wales. There seemed to be a compitition between Dr Price and Dr Kestin Jones in Singleton as to who would be head of this new GIC.
Dr Price send a letter to Charring Cross requesting a set of notes to which he could work to. Charring Cross politly told him no and refused any help.

Subsequently, I was transfered to Dr Kestin Jones in Singleton where he seemed to take a strange active role in the process to get refered to Charring Cross.

It took me 2 years to get a referal to CHX and once i had my first appointment, i had a phone call of Kestin Jones secretary to see how i was progressing.

I also know one of the admin staff in singleton and *** say that they are trying to set up a GIC too.
However, they will never get to do this because they dont have the experience and also you need to have to recomendations from 2 people of the Gender Recognition Panel. See.. http://www.justice.gov.uk/guidance/courts-and-tribunals/tribunals/g...

It is law under Gender Recognition Act 2004 that u have to see and have recomendations from 2 of the people of this list to get your Gender Recognition Certificate and the Op.

Since it would take years for Dr Kestin Jones to get one this list, i wouldnt hold your breath just yet. And thats if they entertain him trying which ive got a feeling they arnt.

I live in Newport, South Wales and I heard the only gender psychiatrist in Wales was Dr N Jamil, she's on the list of grp approved gender psychiatrists but her address is wrong she's moved from park square to st cadocs hospital in Newport
I hope this helps xXx

ive heard of her too, yet it seems no one in wales can ever get an appointment to see her. Although thats usually down to your local health authority not having finanical agreements with each other, i believe.

There are a few ive heard of that have seen Dr Jamil, but no one i know to talk to
